I love Crate & Barrel and Ikea. I wish I could shop there every week! They have the cutest things. I'd love to fill our house with stuff from there to the point where we could be the model home for these companies. Wouldn't it be great if they gave us the products in return for being the model home? Well, I don't think my family would like that because it would mean keeping the house clean and neat. That's nearly impossibly with this bunch.
We're getting part of our house painted.
The foyer and family room have two-story high walls.
Hubby is a great handy man. He could fix or do anything around the house. Painting two-story high walls isn't a risk we're interested in him taking. Can you imagine climbing up a ladder to paint all the way up at the top?
Hubby painted the dining and living rooms a while ago. He did a great job and picked out the perfect color. The color reminds me of a milk chocolate bar. (Of course I think of analogies in terms of food!) It goes excellently with our moss green carpet.
Now, we're having the rest of the main floor painted. Again, Hubby picked out the color. He consulted with me and asked me to pick the colors out. Making a choice became too stressful for me (it's probably that anal retentive perfectionism trait I possess). So, I deferred to him. He choose a sand and maroon color I know it'll be lovely.
We hosted Easter dinner at our house. The table looked lovely. It was a small dinner with my in-laws (mother, father, and aunt). Notice the china? It's the china we received for our wedding 15 years ago. Wow, we've been married for 15 years? The pattern is Conservatory by Noritake. I love that pattern. Unfortunately, it's no longer available.
Grandma gave our youngest one an Easter basket that is just about as tall as she is! Our little one is so funny she didn't want to wear her Easter dress for church. Instead, she wanted to wear it around the house. How different is that?
The kids and I went to Virginia Beach for spring break after Easter. Hubby had another trip already planned with his bike club. He didn't have enough leave to join us this time around. Oh, did I love Virginia Beach. Here is one of my favorite photos from the trip.
Sunrise at Virginia Beach.
We did have two incidents this month. Hubby had a car accident that totaled our Honda Accord. Thank God he didn't break any bones this time. That car served us well. We bought it new in 1996 and it ended with over 250,000 miles on it. I love Hondas!
I was taken to the ER for an irregular, rapid heartbeat with no apparent cause. I wasn't admitted because my heart rate returned to normal while I was in the ambulance on the way to Virginia Hospital Center. I'm going for follow up exams and tests.
